Conscious Box Review

4/17/13 update: I got an email today from Conscious Box containing “this awesome code for you to share with your readers that will get them a FREE box! Have them use SECRETCODE during checkout on any “Monthly” subscription, and we’ll just ask them to pay shipping so the actual Conscious Box is on us!” (I don’t get anything if you order, I just like making you happy.)

Our Conscious Box arrived in the mail and my almost six-year-old (lover of boxes and bundles of all kinds) was absolutely wild to open it. It was nearly bedtime, but I agreed. We opened the box and I showed him all the contents and promised we would try some in the morning. (If you think he forgot about that, you don’t have kids.)

Of course, the desire to break into these adorably trial sized snacks began before the crack of dawn the next day, so we dove right in. My husband gobbled up the Equal Exchange Minis- we’ve all had them before and they are a hot commodity. Not to worry, there was still something for everyone. My big kid claimed the Peanut Butter & Honey flavored Perfect Food Bar, and the little guy and Daddy shared the Dale’s protein bar. They were all mad when they got to the end of their respective treats, so I am glad there are coupons for almost everything in the box. (Yes, I ate those chips, and no, I did not share.)

There is also a spice rub in there that smells amazing, and which I cannot wait to try out. I think my husband is going to LOVE it on chicken, and the household products have definitely got my interest. There was one snack in there (sorry, it’s not in the picture and I can’t remember the name) that we’d never tried before and none of us liked. I’ll recognize it again and I will save my money on that. It sounded good, so I’m glad to know we don’t care for it before I see it in a store, innocently enticing my hungry shopper self to buy a whole case of something none of us wants to eat.

If you are looking for a baby shower type gift or if you and your family like to try new products often, I would say this subscription is a good buy. The fun of working your way through the contents of the box appealed to my entire family, and it will save time and money for the family decision maker at the store, so I call it a win.

Don’t forget to enter to win a three month subscription here.

  1. Seems like a lot of good products – I am not into subscribing for things that I cannot see/taste/try beforehand but I am glad that your family enjoyed the goodies.

    1. It’s definitely something that is a good fit for people who love surprises. We did not love every single thing in the box, but we definitely had a good time trying them all and comparing our opinions of them as a family! If you prefer to know for sure that whatever you are getting is something you want, like, and will use, you might not enjoy this as much as we did.
