Joy Makin’ Mamas Guide to Stroller Walking

plan your next stroller walk for funI don’t know about you, but spring weather always signals the start of a huge mileage spike on our jogging stroller. Bitty dude loves riding around in the shade, munching his Os… Here is your Joy Makin’ Mamas Guide to equipping your baby jogger.

1. Add-on sunshade. The longer you’ll be out and the younger your baby, the more important this is. It will not only keep off the rays, it also protects against light rain. Your native sunshade may shield baby’s face, but it leaves their precious toes out in the danger zone.

2. Bypass Pruners. Sometimes there is a branch or tendril right at baby’s eyeball height. Snip it off short and you’ll keep your own path clear, plus maintain safety for all those who come after you.

3. Water & Snacks. Check into the special water bottles favored by cyclists that snap onto your frame. You may be able to find one that’s compatible with your stroller. And a happy baby means more miles, so stock up on those Os!

4. Mileage tracker. If you don’t want to invest in an odometer for your stroller, try a pedometer for you or the Map My Run app for your phone.

5. Park toys for your older child. Our favorite is a bag full of sidewalk chalk and accessories, but a couple of toy shovels, a truck or two, or a ball are also good choices.
