If you’ve resolved to be better about making sure you have a weekly menu plan, then this cute one stuck to your fridge will help make it more fun! It even has a handy spot to jot down any ingredients you’ve noticed you’re missing, so you can add them to your list before you head to the store. We all know planning saves money- but it’s definitely easier to stick to when it’s cute and FUN!

I think this is a great product, and I love the idea. But I’m going to pack them up for a few months while we work on frustration tolerance and managing expectations. I will go back to hovering and saying “Only on the paper!” every few seconds. It means I’ll police the kiddo art time a little more, but at least he’ll be smiling.

Free is my favorite price! Assuming you already maintain a color printer, nothing could be easier than printing off some craft projects and having the little ones help you. A lot of these ideas will make perfect “finishing touches.” I personally am planning some photo gift tags that can be ornaments for next year!

That’s right, it’s that time of year again, when we are thinking of how to have a lovely, thoughtful holiday without breaking the bank (or the planet!). Every year I look for “green” gift ideas that save cash and reduce, reuse, recycle while still being special and encouraging creativity. (I recently saw Polar Express for the first time, and I LOVE the scene where they explain that Santa is now in the refurbishing business, giving unloved toys new life. I’ve been saying that for years!)

Gingerbread smells so warm and homey, it’s hard to imagine not wanting to make some at least once each winter! And when you say “kids” and “gingerbread,” of course what comes to mind is GINGERBREAD PEOPLE! (Because really, isn’t it time we realized they’re not all men? *wink, wink!*) Gingerbread is a perfect playdate or story time theme!
